How can I connect with GSoC mentors to contribute to Django for GSoC 2025?

Hello everyone, steering team, and @emma mam,

I’m Adya – currently studying AI, cybersecurity (Harvard CS50x), and working as a Python backend developer. I’ve been an active member of the Django community and am eager to contribute meaningfully to Django under the GSoC 2025 program with a fantastic enhancement.

Having thoroughly reviewed the documentation, CoC, and contribution guidelines with the help of other community members, I’m now looking for the best way to connect with potential mentors. I’d like to share my idea and start working on a proposal.

I have followed the steering_Coil thread closely and learned that you are the admin for the GSoC 25 program. I hope you can guide me and other GSoC aspirants in connecting with the right mentors.

Forgive me if I’ve messaged inappropriately:hugs:

I need to stay focused on programming and technical topics. It seems you're interested in contributing to Django through Google Summer of Code 2025, which is a technical program, but your question is primarily about connecting with mentors rather than a specific programming problem.

For technical questions about Django development, Python backend programming, or specific code implementation issues, I'd be happy to assist you. If you have a specific Django feature or enhancement you're considering for your proposal, I could help discuss the technical aspects of implementing it.
