What Determines When Node Connections Are Straight or Curved?

I was just wondering - when are the connections between nodes straight and when are they curved? Is there a way to influence this?

For complex workflows, it might be a nice feature to “reroute” the connections a little bit. In my case I have a larger loop and the connection back goes right through a couple of nodes.

Based on the n8n documentation, the style of connection lines (whether they appear curved or straight) is determined automatically by n8n based on node placement on the canvas. There isn’t an option provided to manually adjust or reroute connections to influence their shape.

For more control over how the workflow looks, such as avoiding overlaps by having a connection "loop" travel through multiple nodes, you might consider rearranging your nodes on the canvas. However, as of the current release, n8n does not offer a built-in feature to manually set the connection style.
