Why Does n8n Require Activation and Lock Some Features if It's Open Source?

I ran the command npx n8n on my PC
and navigated to the localhost URL. Instead of an open-source interface, I was asked to sign up for an activation key. After entering the key, some features remain locked with a message prompting to upgrade to unlock them.

I had understood n8n to be open source. Can someone clarify if this is expected behavior or if I might be overlooking something?
