How Can I Enable Team Collaboration by Sharing Workflows in n8n Pro?

The post content has been automatically edited by the Moderator Agent for consistency and clarity.

Hi n8n Community,

I’m a Pro user of n8n, and I’m trying to set up a shared environment for my team to view, edit, and manage workflows collaboratively.

However, I encountered an issue: when I click on the share option, there is no way to add new team members or invite them by email. I need a way to seamlessly allow my team members access to the workflows.

Has anyone faced this issue before or can recommend an efficient approach to invite team members and share workflows in n8n?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Alfy

When you share a workflow in n8n, you’re sharing it with users who already exist in your instance. The sharing option doesn’t provide a way to invite new team members by email. Instead, you need to first add (invite) those users to your n8n instance. Once they accept the invitation and have an account, you can then share your workflows with them.

To invite new users:

  1. Sign in using your owner or admin account.
  2. Navigate to your Personal settings by clicking the three dots near your user icon.
  3. Select the Users section.
  4. Click Invite and enter the new user’s email address.
  5. Once they’ve joined, you can use the workflow sharing feature to grant them access.

This two-step process ensures that team members are part of the instance before you share workflows for collaboration.
