The “Specify Input Schema” option is designed to be used only when working with agents—such as the Tools Agent or the OpenAI Functions Agent—that require a structured input schema. In n8n v1.77.3 this option will only appear when your workflow tool is set up to be used by one of these agents. If you’re not using an agent, the “Specify Input Schema” option won’t open, which is the expected behavior.
